the pain of a break-up, books to get your life in order and even fiction
books to simply take your mind of your ex entirely. These are all user
reviews on books they'd recommend to you!
Title: Finding Your Own North Star - How to Claim the Life You
Were Meant to Live
Author: Martha Beck
Publisher: Piatkus
Reviewer: Dionne
Review:
Martha Beck has a novel approach to self-help, rather than mournful
self-examination you find yourself laughing and identifying with examples
from all walks of life. The exercises are not a chore, although some
require you to have a reasonably reliable memory. Martha encourages
you to reach for your "Wildly Improbable Goals" (affectionately
known as WIGs) and also helps you to handle any obstacles confidently.

Title: He's Scared; She's Scared
Author: Steven Carter and Julia Sokol
Publisher: Delacorte Press
Pages: 352
Reviewer's Nick: Kmliane
Review: An in-depth analysis of the "dance" between
commitment phobic partners. This book acknowledges that it is both men
and women who play certain roles when it comes relationships. It teaches
both partners how to understand their own commitment conflicts, when
to cut your losses, and how to stop being hurt. I think anyone who would
like evaluate how their own patterns affect their relationships could
get a lot of out this book.

Title: Men Who Can't Love
Author: Steven Carter and Julia Sokol
Publisher: Berkley Publishing Group
Pages: 336
Reviewer's Nick: Kmliane
Review: This book details the commitment phobic man who runs away when
there is a chance for real commitment. It gives advice on how to spot
this man and how to deal with your partner who is afraid of commitment.
I liked how this book acknowledges that it is never the woman's fault
and that these men usually seek out a smart, independent woman. However,
if you are recovering from a failed relationship and the man is already
gone, there is little advice on how to let go.

Title: Are you the one for me?
Author: Barbara de Angelis
Publisher: Thorsons
No of Pages: 353
Brief Synopsis: A guide to why some relationships won't
work, no matter how much we love the other person, why we often make
mistakes in choosing a partner and how to make the right choice next
time. I found this book really eye-opening. I kept reading bits and
thinking - yes, that is me!!! I felt like someone had gotten into my
head and heart somehow - sounds corny but true! I can now understand
why so many of my previous relationship haven't worked, no matter how
hard I tried, and also why I was attracted to guys who were 'wrong'
for me. I now have a better idea of what type of relationship could
work for me when I am ready to date again.
