1) THE JOURNAL OF
MORTIFYING MOMENTS caught my eye by the title alone.
Check out this chick-lit fiction from Robyn Harding. A fairly
fun read - because let's face it, most of us have some mortifying
moments in our past . . .
2) A TOTAL WASTE OF MAKE-UP: See if you can relate
to this: "Never ask a single person if they're seeing anyone
special, an unemployed person if they've found a job, or a married
couple when they're planning to have children. You're not making
conversation. You're starting someone on the road to Prozak."
How true! I've not read this one, but I am really looking forward
to reading it...
3) To completely see how the other half lives, have a read of
Portnoy's erotic memoir -THE BUTCHER, THE BAKER, THE CANDLESTICK
MAKER. This book will not be
for everyone. If you're, shall we say, "prim and proper"
and sexually "prude", you're not gonna like this steamy
little read. This is for the more horny among you -- and a great
bubble bath read . . .

| Two
books to give you perspective on life:
1) HOLDING ON by Jo Gambi: Rob and Jo Gambi are
the first married couple to complete the 'seven summits' and even
Cancer doesn't stop these two. It will, perhaps, put you to shame
(e.g. make you feel like a lazy sod) reading it but don't let
that stop you . . .
2) And Edinburgh's Jamie Andrew's LIFE AND LIMB
depicts his rescue after five nights trapped by a ferocious storm
on Mont Blanc - he lost his best friend and all four limbs to
frostbite. His survival was miraculous - and even as a quadruple
amputee, this guy soars to amazing heights and is truly inspirational.
Again it might put you to shame. . .
3) For practical purposes and personal development, try Mr McKenna's
non-fiction tome on how to CHANGE YOUR LIFE IN SEVEN DAYS.
Listen to the accompanying CD morning and night for best results!

1) COMING APART:
WHY RELATIONSHIPS END AND HOW TO LIVE THROUGH THE ENDING OF
YOURS is an absolute "eye-opener". Every
one going through a break up (or even IN a relationship) should
read thsi book. It goes into the myth of "forever"
and how we are always in so much pain when a relationship ends
because we EXPECT them to last forever and when they don't -
we're gutted. It will change the way you think.
2) GIRL SEEKS BLISS: ZEN AND THE ART OF MODERN LIFE
MAINTENANCE is a guide to using the most basic principles
of Buddhism to get through the very busy days that make up the
life of the girl-on-the-go.
3) BLINK and THE TIPPING POINT
- Two great, non-fiction books from best-selling author Malcolm
Gladwell. Both will make you think differently about things
and alter your perceptions. Currently swapping between these
two books.
